Q: How much does it cost to get a Doberman Pinscher's ears cropped? I'm getting a Doberman Pinscher in a couple of months and I'm planning ahead... I was wondering how much it costs to get their ears cropped...and how long does it take for them to heal. I am not against ear cropping and tail docking... I am sorry. Some people say it's so they can hear better, or so they don't get ear infections, that's baloney. Their ears were cropped originally to make the breed look more fierce, and the tail was docked so that they couldn't be grabbed by their tail and held back from attacking. The ears may have been cut for that same reason, but I haven't found any definitive data on that. As for how much, the lowest I've heard is $ 250, $ 300-$ 400 is pretty common.
