Dog owners are not sure why out of the blue grains have become unhealthy for their dogs. The attention of grain-free foods is becoming popular, and the processed dog food industry is threatened by their strong competitors. Because of the sudden change in dogs' diets, a lot of dog owners are starting to think twice about feeding processed food to their pets. But why exactly are grains bad for dogs?
The truth about grains is that they are not dangerous to your dog's health your canines digestive system is not suitable for breaking down certain kinds of substances. Because grains are rich in carbohydrates, these compounds should first be broken down by enzymes. The saliva that a dog produces does not offer enough enzymes which make it hard for dogs to break down grain.
Gastrointestinal problems can develop when grains are not correctly digested. In order to digest these enzymes, the pancreases must produce an excessive amount of enzymes. This may cause your canine to have discomfort, as well as intestinal inflammations this is also the reason why some stool from grain feed dogs is loose.
After the 2007 international pet-food recalls, many new diets came on the market differentiating themselves as grain or carb-free to offer the consumer an alternative to the norm, claiming carbohydrates in pet foods to be fillers with little or no nutritional value. Additionally, another possible concern regarding grains in pet food may be the concentrations of mycotoxins that can accumulate in feed grade grain ingredients used in most kibbles. (Wikipedia)
In order to help with your canine's diet, many researchers have come up with " all-natural food" for canines. Because dogs are members of the animal family that included wolves, foxes, and coyotes, their diets must be pretty much the same. Their food intake must be low in starch and carbohydrates and higher in protein and vitamins.

The growing popularity nowadays for feeding canine is using raw foods. These foods are processed fresh or frozen and distributed almost immediately to prevent the food from going bad. Depending on the distributors and manufacturers of the food the ingredients may vary but, most of these foods include pure protein, fruits, vegetables, and no grain.
Make sure that your canine's food is made with pure 100% fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables. Make sure that the company that makes the dog food is certified with no trace of grains or other additives. Raw food should be of human-quality meat with some ground bone heart and liver: and fresh and organic vegetables and apple cider vinegar and trace of minerals like amino acids, salt, and vitamin E.

My Kangal is a wonderful big dog who is mellow as can be. Gentle and calm but nothing to trifle with. I also have a Dogo argentino female who is also very sweet (to me). They mated and had 7 fantastic puppies. The puppies are 1year old and the runt who was 1 1/2 lbs is now 94lbs. His big brother is 106lbs.
My friend Andrew of Olympic Dogs has been an invaluable source of information about that cross. They too are wonderful although Tank, the bigger one is very aggressive. Not a bad thing in my neighborhood. All the talk about which dog is the baddest is junk. Any dog 90lbs or over is nothing to trifle with.
Thank you.
