Zak: Where can I find a clean bloodline of pit bull puppies that werent used for fighting?
I'm a pit bull lover. I want to find a clean line of puppies that were bred only for the sake of pets. Not fighting. I do not want to have to get rid of my puppy because he is I'll tempered due to bad genetics. I have 2 dogs right now at my parents house and they are the most loving and relaxed dogs you have ever seen. They do not show any signs of a temper and have never bit or even showed aggression.

Technically pitbulls is a general term that is used all the time. If you really want a "clean" line you will look for breeders that show their dogs under the proper breed name - either Staffordshire Terriers or American Pitbull Terrier. Look up the breeds in AKC.

That, Zak, is virtually impossible to do in all but a perfect world. And that's because the primary reason pit bulls were bred in the first place was to instill animal aggression in the breed.
Therefore, it would stand to reason that the perfect pit bull will not be safe in an enclosed environment with other animals. Suggest that might read up a wee bit on the history of the pit bull.

No where I hope...The breed was created and used as a fight dig for the pit, hence the name, for anyone to breed it without its genetic capabilities and drives, is to rob the dog off its purpose.
If you want a pet, go get a poodle or a chi, leave the pits to those that can breed and use them for what they were intended to for.

That's kind of an ignorant question, sorry to be rude. Every single dog is different a puppy isn't a killer, a puppy that's beaten and forced to fight other dogs, fight for their lives. Get a puppy that jumps on you and gives you a huge kiss, just like any other dog. I do understand the facts and yes the puppy may be aggressive around food but there are ways to combat that. Don't think of a puppy as a trained killer cuz he more than likely hasn't been trained to kill if he's just sitting in an animal shelter.
Some dogs are just aggressive and that could be any breed, you just need to check them out just like any other dog.

There is no full blooded or pure breed dog but the wolf. Dogs have neen cross breed for as long as yhe dog existed. Every dog has another dog in its bloodline. I don’t care if its a American Pitbull Staffy or Bull terrier or the Bully that I don’t to much care for but its its own dog just like the others. An as far as temperament they were breed to fight an be protectors if its a registered breeder or as you guys mite call it a street breeder a dog will act accodingly. No matter were the dog came from if its raised to protect an guard an b a family dog then he will if its raised an trained to fight it will. They are like us himans if u have a bad up bringging then u mite be bad if u had a good 1 u still mite be bad or a thug its up to the person that raises the dog an how its raised. Socializing an letting your pitbull around other animals an things like that at an early age iz the key with a lot of guidance.

There are many breeders of pitbulls that do t have fighting behavioural problems in there bloodlines but you just need the best place to look firstly I suggest go to you local shelter as they at sure to have no behaviour problems but if there is no look maybe an adult is what your looking for?
If not try looking for good rating pet websites or the kennel club assured breeder they may be expensive but they are sure to be loving good and not byb and remember always see the mom and dad before buying a pup and make sure there temperaments are as good a you can get

APBT Lover says
I’m assuming you mean American Pit Bull Terrier right? That’s the only “Pit Bull”. The rest are their own breed, such as American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. American Bullies are the short dogs you see, and they are mutts. Not pit bulls.
I am an APBT breeder, and I breed for a stable temperament and I do not breed grossly out of standard dogs like the American Bully who people falsely register as APBTs.
You’ll want to find a breeder whose dog are UKC or ADBA registered, they do genetic health testing, and their dogs compete and have titles in something to prove their worthiness. You’ll definitely want to meet the sire and dam and they should let you. Do NOT but from ANYONE pushing blue noses for higher costs. It’s just a color and they are usually not bred to standard or for temperament they are bred for color and money purely. They can be good dogs from the right breeder though. Get on the breeders waiting list. Talk to the breeder and attempt to get to know them a little do you know you can trust them. Be sure they have a contract (usually includes a spay/neuter contract on all pet quality dogs) and read it thoroughly.
Then, if you want a good dog it’s up to you and if you train and socialize your dog. I would never sell to someone who has little to no experience with dogs, because the APBT is not for a first time owner. Any Good breeder will have a lot of questions for you, so be prepared to answer and answer them truthfully. Be sure to research the APBT and know them like the back of your hand!
