Known affectionately throughout the world as The Russian Dog Wizard, Vladae Roytapel practices his legendary canine training techniques through his Southern California-based business, SoCal Dog Training. He is hailed as a miracle worker by dog owners of a wide variety of breeds with a host of different behavioral problems and is able to succeed where others have failed. The Russian Dog Wizard regularly achieves results in cases thought hopeless by owners and trainers alike.
Vladae was born in the former Soviet Union. His father was a distinguished biologist who conducted groundbreaking research with foxes, coyotes, and wolves. Earning his MBA from Kostroma State Technological University, Vladae subsequently achieved certification as Dog Trainer and Behaviorist from the prestigious private dog training academy Avante in Moldova. Utilizing behavioral insight gained from a deaf and mute dog-training mentor, he trained canines for many uses within the Soviet armed services, including Red Army paratrooper assistance and Russia-China border patrol.
As the Russian Dog Wizard, Vladae has made a name for himself largely through his fluency in a language that he calls “Doglish.” Understanding that dogs cannot be expected to communicate the way that humans do, Vladae Roytapel has leveraged years of training and observation to devise a coherent structure and vocabulary through which dogs communicate. By speaking Doglish, the Russian Dog Wizard is able to issue commands in ways dogs clearly understand and then obey. For example, for dog owners with animals who constantly jump up on people, Vladae recommends a deep, loud cry of “AHHHHHGT!” while simultaneously bending over, clapping one’s hands, and freezing in place. According to Vladae’s understanding of Doglish, the act of bending one’s back and freezing signals to the dog that one is about to bite—an action that will surely get any dog’s attention.
Since coming to the United States, Mr. Roytapel has attracted significant media attention for his innovative training methods. His techniques have notably been featured on National Public Radio and on television programs such as CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman and CNN’s Situation Room. Vladae Roytapel is distinguished as Exclusive Pet Expert of PetsPlaces.com and is a columnist for publications such as the Orange County Register, Pasadena Star-News, and San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Fido Friendly, a nationally syndicated dog magazine, features Mr. Roytapel frequently. He additionally hosts a pet talk program on XM Satellite Radio’s Animal Radio Network. Mr. Roytapel also maintains affiliation with the International Association of Canine Professionals. The Pet Convincer, Vladae's dog training brainchild, was recently created and granted a U.S. patent.
Vladae's customers are more than satisfied with his professional services.
Wanda: Star is doing very well... she is not the little terror she was before you walked into our home. I still am amazed at how changed she was after your first visit. She is a wonderful dog and without your help, she'd still be running the house, I'm sure!
Arizona Saddlery: We at Arizona Saddlery are very grateful and blessed to have Vladae as our dog trainer. Our Shiba Inu's were at a critical stage of aggression towards one another. The dogs were kept on leads at seperate locations in our business thus creating high level of aggression and frustration beyond our manageability.
Karen: I wanted to write you and thank you for coming today in the first step Jake took to obedience! When I Saw him walking in the park with you, and Not leading, but following, I almost cried! I really love my dog, and I worried after I got him that he would never be able to learn the right things. Then..........God sent me YOU!
