From a reputable breeder, minimum $ 1000.
From a backyard breeder (never get your dog from here, it will be prone to health and behavioral issues) a couple of hundreds.
From a shelter: average $ 50 - $ 300
However, remember that whatever you pay for your dog, will not even come close to how much you have to pay in the dog's lifetime.

The price of a puppy varies from breeder to breeder. If you want a list of breeders, google for some in your area, or anywhere if you are willing to fly the puppy in. I think you should do a little more research before getting a puppy.

My 10-month-old black AKC Lab puppy with papers cost $2,000 from a breeder. That is the going rate as I did check. They are once again #1 dog in America.

Lab puppies vary in price. If you pay more for a good one from a *reputable* breeder, you will very likely save yourself thousands of dollars at the veterinary hospital later on and have a healthier, better looking, and an all-around better pet.

You can find reputable breeders through the national breed club website online. Try a quick search for "Labrador Retriever Club of America."

The cost of a yellow lab varies and it depends where u get it as well !!

Lots, a yellow lab is a loyal and playful dog, so Labradors cost a lot. A yellow Lab would shed a lot though. Some other good breeds are... terriers, collies...

There are plenty of other breeds but I don't know what you are looking for if they are toy small, standard, large, or X-large breeds. There are a couple of websites you can take the quiz to see what breed size and what breed will fit for you!
If you work almost all day, my best advice is that you don't get a toy/small breed and/or puppy. Since puppies bladders can't hold as long as an adult dog and toy/small breeds have to go outside plenty of times throughout the day. You can also look at the nearest Humaine Societies and see if there are any dogs there that you would like as well.
