National Dog Show 2009

Over 150 breeds and over 2,000 dogs competed at the National Dog Show presented by Purina, which took place on November 14-15, 2009 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. Aired on NBC on November 26, the Dog Show 2009 lasted 1 hour and 41 minutes and reached the audience of nearly 20 million viewers. Today this most widely viewed dog show in America is becoming an important American holiday tradition.

The Dog Show 2009 was hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia. John O'Hurley ("Dancing with the Stars," "Seinfeld") and the dog expert David Frei were the hosts. And Uli, the top-ranked bulldog in the country was one of the participants.

All the participants of this two benched, all-breed National Dog Show presented by Purina were vying for Best of Breed, First in Group and the coveted title of Best in Show. The Best in Show winner was selected from among seven finalists, the dogs titled best in their respective groups, which are Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding. This time it was Sadie the Scottish Terrier from the Terrier group who came out on top. She is owned by Amelia Musser from Mackinac Island, Michigan. For Sadie, formally known as Ch. Roundtoun Mercedes of MaryScot, it was a great victory. She received a $6,000 cash prize and won the hearts of millions of adoring spectators.

The bulldog Uli won in the non-sporting category, and the final list of winners of the Dog Show 2009 appeared as follows:
