As a fellow dog owner, I'm sure you will agree with me when I say dog shedding is such a pain in the ass! However, when you own a dog, there will come a time when you have to deal with it whether you like it or not.

The causes of excessive shedding can be many things from a lack of nutrition, dog shedding season, health problems, hormonal problems, and stress.
In this infographic, I will share with you few simple solutions to stop dog shedding.
Luckily for you, there are solutions and products to deal with the dog shedding problems:
1. Give Clean, Fresh Water
A lack of clean, fresh water can cause dry skin which eventually causes excessive shedding. Therefore, it is important to keep your dog's bowl filled at all times and always refill with fresh, clean water daily.
2. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains many health benefits both for humans and dogs.
Some of those benefits are:
- The ability to improve overall skin condition.
- Coconut oil can clear up various skin conditions.
- It can be used as a topical medication to promote the healing of cuts and wounds.
- It can prevent and treat yeast infection.
How much should you give to your dog?
You should start slowly, start feeding your dog with a tiny amount. Don't start with a larger amount of coconut oil, otherwise, your dog could react poorly, side effects include diarrhea or greasy stools.
It is recommended to give 1/4 teaspoon per day for small dogs and puppies. For large dogs, you should give 1 teaspoon per day.

Many dog owners make a mistake by feeding their dogs fish oil but without enough dose. Then how much that you should give? The answer is to multiply your dog's weight in pounds by 20.
4. Dawn Dishwashing Liquid
Dawn dishwashing liquid kills fleas more effectively compared with other brands, and it's the safest for your dog. All you have to do is prepare a regular dog bath, and use dawn dishwashing liquid as the lather, the soap will kill fleas within minutes. Once you are done, give your dog a proper bath with good shampoo to keep his skin from drying out.

Hi I’m Misty. I have a min pin puppy. She is shedding and scratching alot. I read what to do. Is there anything else I can do for her to make her feel better
Hi Misty. Min pins are not known as heavy shedders. The main problem is not in shedding but in scratching. Most of the dogs shed but they shouldn’t scratch. Your puppy may have an allergy or some skin disease. She may suffer from pests and parasites like fleas, mites, and ringworms. Please take it seriously and show your pup to the vet.
