Q: How long will it take my 9-month-old Bichon's shaved coat to grow back? He was a lovely fluffy Bichon but some bad matts on his legs and tummy. The groomer did not advise me that she was going to shave him completely apart from his head and tail. I asked that he not be shaved. I kept him brushed and comb daily to prevent knots in the coat. He is one year old and he looks horrible, I paid $60.00. I think whoever cut him took a big plug out of him by mistake and tried to correct it by cutting all of his hair off, He did not smell good at all. It shouldn't take long to grow back after all you should get your dog groomed every 2-3 months, so obviously it grows enough in between the cuts to be needed a new cut again.
