Thunderhawk Caucasians is a kennel name! They're one of the only ethical breeders in North America who breed purebred CO.
My CO is from ThunderHawk, and I swear by their breeding program. They produce some of the loveliest, fiercely protective, and most wonderful dogs I've ever had the privilege of meeting.
When I got my CO from them, "ThunderHawk's Royal Spice" (AKA Jade) I had access to 24/7 'puppy support'. ANYTHING that I had a question about, the breeder is just a phone call away. She is the woman who WROTE THE BOOK on these dogs – my copy sits well-loved and dog-eared on my bedside table.
Filed away in my filing cabinet is my 100% money-back written guarantee for genetic health/temperament, signed by both myself and the breeder – FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE DOG. And if there are any genetic or temperament flaws that make themselves visible, I can get my money back AND KEEP THE DOG. If that isn't faith in one's breeding program, I don't know what is.
Elke M is right – not for the inexperienced owner. Also right in saying that when you have a CO from ThunderHawk, even if you're a jumpy person, you sleep like the dead at night. This is the same dog that has protected me, my partner, and our house against threats with hellish ferocity, but is currently flopped down on her back in the living room with her tongue hanging out a country mile while my partner Paul rubs her belly. If you want/need serious protection AND a loving companion, you can really only go with ThunderHawk.
The correct website is http://www.thunderhawkcaucasians.com .
I write about my experiences as an owner of a ThunderHawk CO on my blog http://ktjade.weebly.com/.
Hope that helps! Katie

It's called a Caucasian Ovcharka. The Thunderhawk is the name of the kennel where they breed them.
I used to own one for 10 years. Let me tell you this dog was awesome. But it is not a dog for an inexperienced dog owner. I had a female that topped out at a weight of 160 pounds. Very protective over their owners !!!!! A great dog for the family, but very scary for strangers.
No need to be scared with this dog around if you have it in the house.
The smartest dog I have ever had. Lots of hair, need lots of brushing. I would get another one in a heartbeat.

We bought ours from Tamara 20 years ago, named him “Attila”. He was the best dog I ever had. Smart, protective, obedient and healthy. We got him at 9 weeks and had him for 11years and 10 months. We live in the country, in southern Mississippi and I loved to be in the woods…so did Attila. He knew when to stay close to me and when he could roam, I never had to tell him. No matter where he was in the woods and I wanted him to come home, I yelled
“Come” only once and he came running. If Tamara is no longer in the business of breeding these dogs, that is truly sad…she was the best.

We haven’t seen Mrs Tamara Follett on our website for quite a while. Probably she is not in this business anymore. You may want to see our list of currently active Caucasian Shepherd breeders in the US.

I am saving up now to purhase a Thunderhawk Causcian now. I have read everything I could get my hands on regarding these majestic beautiful dogs. I owned 2 Rotties. Now I own a Cocker Spaniel. I have fallen in love with these dogs I live alone in the city eith a fairly nice size yard but the neighborhood has changed alot of people are moving to suburbia leaving the neighborhood to become bad I need a dog that I know will protect me and my 3 year old granddaughter when we walk or ride or bikes.

Quick clarification: If you want/need serious protection AND a loving companion and are buying from NORTH AMERICA, go with ThunderHawk.
Didn't want to snub our ethical international breeders out there :)

Do you know if they are still actively breeding g?

Hi Jessica, we don’t have news from ThunderHawk Caucasians for quite a while. Looks like they don’t breed anymore. You may probably want to visit their Facebook page.
