Australian Shepherd Trained to Run Alongside Owner's Car

This Australian Shepherd is impressively trained to run alongside the owner's car.

Aspen the Aussie knows how to safely cross the street and run alongside his owner's car down the sidewalk. Amazing dog!

Australian Shepherds are a large and wonderful breed of dog, and they show great intelligence even in the early stages of their growth. This means that you need to train them as early as possible to allow them to develop these skills early in their lives.

Aspen is a well-trained dog for sure.

Aussies are a hyperactive breed of dog, so make sure you socialize them early. Aussies communicate easily with anyone they are familiar with, but if you don't acquaint them with other people or animals, they will eventually have a hard time adjusting to their presence.

Leash training is obligatory in the training of Australian Shepherds. Since this breed of dog is very prone to herding, they can become hyperactive when they see moving objects or individuals and can run away towards them. If you keep them on a leash while walking and pull them back effectively when they move toward, their training will be more efficient.

Another thing you need to keep in mind when training Australian Shepherd puppies is to teach them the basic commands like "sit" and "down" to keep them still. Don't forget to teach them the "come" command so they learn to walk towards you. This will essentially help you in many situations.

Lazy people shouldn't own dogs…

Jorrie Wimmer says:
I had someone who trained his dog to run beside his truck. We lived out in the country on a gravel road. That dog would stop and piss on our mailbox post. Our little dog got out on us one day and went to run over and check out the post. Got hit by a car speeding down the road. Think of others before you let your dog off-leash anywhere and be responsible for it.

There is nothing impressive about that. Walk the dog properly.
