Dragon_Gore: What dog breed should I get, all info you need is included...?
I'm looking at getting a dog at the beginning of November/ end of October.
The following is everything you should need to give me a very accurate answer. I do not want a labrador, golden retriever, or border collie mainly because of how common they are and I love new, exotic, kind of unique things. Not so unique as to block out cocker spaniels, german shepherds, and bearded collies, but you know...
Family of 5: A mother and father
I am 14, 15 in may
two brothers, 12 and 17 (in May and March)
Two dogs (a sheltie/male/neutered/3yrs old, shiba/lab mix/5 or 6/ adopted/spayed/does not tolerate "stupid" dogs but knows the difference between puppies and adult dogs.)
Love dogs and know a lot about 260 something breeds just by memory.
I want a purebred because I'd like to show in Jr. Showmanship and either do conformation and agility, or conformation and field trials (in jr.'s)
I would not mind a dog with a long, needy coat, because I already have the blade set w/ scissors for grooming, I will obviously take her to groomers a few times before to learn how to do it myself more accurately, but that's why I have parents :)
I have a lot of time and I will put time aside to spend time with her, as I do with my current dogs.
I have about an Acre back yard and a fairly large front yard. I do have horses next door so I do not want a dog that has too strong an instinct to get into trouble with them, although, of course, I will train her to stay in the yard but... Accidents happen.
I don't want a HUGE dog (mastiff, st.bernard, ovtcharka, great dane sized...)
Nor do I want a TINY dog (chihuahua, teacup yorkie, toy poodle...)
I do not mind you guys telling me to "research more" or telling me I'm "too young and inexperienced to own a dog" because FYI, I own a dog right now, he's a sheltie and his name's Rex and he's MY dog I walk him, and care for him. I let him out, I train him. I go looking for him when he runs off, I clean him off when he gets into junk.
But please... PLEASE don't say "ADOPT" because who's to say I can't find purebreds in the shelters right? I can, and i can register them with PAL/ILP Thru AKC
so please only good and honest and kind answers.
If you need anymore info, please, lemme know.
I may know the breeds names but I have not owned all of them. People own different breeds and can evaluate and reccomend them to the right people... :D
I've owned a GSD (German shepherd) and wouldn't want to go back to something I've already had, but thank you :)
A yorkie... Hmmm I don't want something that I feel like I'm gonna break and I'd like a dog a good sized so that it has a lot of energy, I like to run around and I don't want my dogs hurting her so... :/ not as small as a yorkie plz
IT'S CALLED JUNIORS, DUH! THAT'S WHAT I SAID. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH ON THAT STUFF!
omg... what don't people get about PARENTHESIS! "Stupid dog" referring to a dog that's just not... hmmm Well they're like really buggy and they just annoy her. She gets annoyed by dogs that poke at her and try to dominate her ot take her food and stuff, that's what I meant by a "stupid dog" but now it occurs to me, you don't need the parenthesis when you're talking about people like you.

i'm not trying to be snarky - but you said yourself you know about 260 types of dogs, so wouldn't you know which dog to go for?
also, newer breads of dogs come with a lot of health issues. they haven't been monitored, and a lot of times there is inbreeding involved so you could end up with a mental disorder as well. good luck finding a puppy you love though, they're a miracle.
