Any similar dogs to mini siberian husky?

Question by sigi: Any similar dogs to what a mini siberian husky would look like?
Since there is “no such thing” as miniature siberian huskies, what is a dog breed that would look like a mini siberian husky if they existed. I have heard the Alaskan Klee Kai is almost the same as a mini, but they are still just too big for me. Is a dog like this even possible?

I have seen toy dog mutts that have some siberian husky traits. You may have to go looking on petfinder.com to find them though. Chihuahua mixes with the deer head (long and tapered) sometimes have this look.

  1. There are such a thing as miniature huskies. I just found out about them, but the link explains what they are.

  2. Mini Siberian huskies do exist, and they are different than the Alaskan Klee Klai, they have been around for a while.

  3. How small a dog are you looking for? The Alaskan Klee Kai is noted as an apartment sized dog. None are taller than your knees. They don't usually weigh more than 20 pounds unless they are overweight. And they really do look like a siberian husky with almost all their traits.

I have a toy Alaskan Klee Kai and he is only 9 pounds and 11 inches tall. You could easily carry 4 of him in your arms with room to spare.

As someone else said you could go for a small chihuahua with specific markings but I bet that would be harder to find. The AKK are really the best bet for a smaller version of a husky.

  4. a keeshond has a similar coat, but without the typical husky markings. http://www.akc.org/breeds/keeshond/index.cfm

The Alaskan Klee Kai looks remarkably like a miniature Siberian Husky. I would recommend this dog to you because it is remarkably smart and joyous and can soothe a broken heart. They make good watchdogs for they are always suspicious of everyone and aware of everything. The Klee Kai is also very good if you have other pets and can live with cats as long as introduced properly

  7. Alaskan Klee Kai is the only thing i can think of that really resembles a Sibe. There are however smaller Spitz breeds.
