The difference between an English and American Foxhound?

NONAME: What is the difference between an English and American Foxhound?
Right now our family has a beagle. On Monday we have an appointment to start the adoption process of a foxhound. I am not sure if she is emglish or american foxhound. Can someone please explain to me the difference?

    Americans are larger, mainly. And I think their colors tend to be a little more vivid, and the English have more of a beagle-like head, whereas the American have a heavier, more pointer-like head. Temperment wise they are the same.
