asyouwish2010: My dog bit another dog?
Ok so my dog is spayed, had rigorous training, and been around many many dogs and has never had a problem. But today she bolted out the front door and went after another dog! she bit the dog on the neck and there was a small cut. i took her back inside and went straight back to talk to the owner. He said she was shakin up but was ok. ny kids came over to see and he told them that his dog did not luke kids so i sent them inside. i asked if there was anything i could do and he said no. he said he would take her home and put peroxide on it. I am so afraid to lose my dog. i just found out that i have cancer and my kids could not handle losing the dog right now. Should i check on the dog tomorrow? should i report it? should i wait and see? im just at a loss. this has never happened and she is even in training to be a therapy dog! i don't know what got into her! Please help

Since she is in training to be a therapy dog, I think it might help if you talk to the trainer about it.
You didn't say if she left your property to go on the other dog's property to bite it. That's important to know.
You are in violation of leash laws for not having control over your dog, but, from what the other dog's owner said according to you, I'd talk to your children and make sure they understand his dog is not child - friendly so they need to leave his dog alone. And I don't think you should check on the dog tomorrow, but maybe in a day or two just check back to make sure the dog is doing ok.
I see no benefit of your reporting it. Your neighbor might let it go since it was small. Wait and see, but I think that, so long as you learn to control your dog, you may not have any further problems with your neighbor. -!-

i Think you have to speak about this with a vet may be your dog trainer.

Your dog can't be a therapy dog. It won't pass any of the tests. Yes you need to pass tests and certify the dog so it can become a therapy dog but it will fail them all
Dog aggression, no recall and being unpredictable means the dog can't be a therapy dog. No hospital or school and nursing home would allow this dog
You need to report the attack and keep the dog properly confined. NO dog can show any aggression and be a therapy dog.

Im sorry to hear about that cancer and yes i agree losing their dog wouldnt be best for them right now. I suggest you get your dog a muzzle. Therefore no harm can come to any other dogs on walks, and your dog would have no reason to be put down. And what breed is your dog? I might have better advice if i know the breed. Hope this helps.
